Confidential Client, Menlo Park, CA
Award: AIA San Francisco Award of Merit in Interior Architecture 2019
With a mission to reach the next generation of innovators, creators and disrupters, our client sought to create a sophisticated environment and updated brand. Meeting the challenge, the building entry was prominently relocated providing visibility along one of the most sought after locations in Silicon Valley. The design balances timeless materials and fresh modern form throughout the interiors; a ribbon of steel forms the new stairway while warm, whitewashed ash wood on both floor and ceilings define the public space. A cantilevered stone coffee bar invites guests to relax while setting a more informal tone at reception. Custom designed metal screens inspired by light and shadow, provides both visual privacy and texture at glass-fronted meeting rooms. Bespoke detailing continues throughout the space with custom furniture and millwork, lighting and specialty area rugs from local artists. Project scope included conference center, offices, upgraded building services and refreshed exterior finishes and landscaping.
